The Honda Research Institute (HRI) was incorporated in 2003 in Japan, the US and Europe as a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda R&D Co., Ltd. HRI seeks to contribute to future society and the sustained growth of Honda as a research institute to realize an evolutionary path for Honda.

The HRIs in different countries are focused on different research areas. The Honda Research Institute Japan (HRI-JP) located in Japan is focused on intelligence science, conducting research on interface intelligence, and nanoscience, participating in genome research.

We want to solve global problems. We want to contribute to the society of the future. The Honda Research Institute Japan (HRI-JP) is based on a concept different from conventional research institutes, and is continuously evolving to create future value.
