Associated Research Thrust:

I am interested in the ways that infants and children can influence their own thinking and learning through language, gesture, and by acting on the world. In my current work, I am investigating how infants gain new knowledge by interacting with objects in their environment. I am also comparing the roles that gesture and language can play in the geometrical and mathematical reasoning of children.
