CBMM is delighted to announce an industrial alliance with GE Software’s labs for advanced research.

At the heart of the Industrial Internet is the integration of analytics, intelligence, sensors and data with machines.  And GE’s focus on predictive analytics is driving a more connected world of intelligent machines that can predict and prevent events – delivering outcomes that matter for customers, industries, and people with cleaner energy; faster, safer and more efficient travel; and improved quality and access to healthcare.  As part of the collaboration, GE and NSF funded Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines will explore how to drive innovation to advance the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics.  This effort will be instrumental with helping to mine multi-dimensional industrial big data sets to uncover patterns and trends, ultimately allowing people to make better, more informed decisions.

Mark Grabb, GE Research’s Technology Leader for Advanced Analytics, reinforced the importance of the alliance, saying “We are rapidly moving toward an era of predictive analytics – cognitive reasoning and prevention of future events without historical context. In the past, analytics were constrained by the analysis of one or more examples that happened in the past to help recognize when an event occurred. Working closely with the brilliant minds at the CBMM we can collectively accelerate the integration of intelligence into industrial applications to increase the efficiency of our assets.”

Additionally, GE will be sharing information about openings for Summer internships and potential projects to develop a broader ecosystem of community experts in this field.
