KRIS: Hey, Jess.
JESSICA CHOMIK-MORALES: Hey, Kris.
KRIS: Teach me something.
JESSICA CHOMIK-MORALES: OK. I actually learned something super cool about vision recently, and it's that although it doesn't seem like it, our eyes are constantly moving. And between fixations on things, it's called saccades, they last for about 50 milliseconds. During those very short periods of movement, our vision is actually impaired. And our brain fills in visual information so that we can maintain a cohesive perception of the world around us. And that's just so cool because imagine what life would be like if we perceived the world in the same way that a shaky camera does.
