For the General Public

ChildrenHelpingScience.com is a website where you and your family can find and participate in online research studies from universities around the world! CBMM researchers Laura Schulz and Julian Jara-Ettinger helped to create the website.

Science of intelligence public lecture series

Learn about exciting developments in the study of human intelligence from the perspectives of neuroscience and cognitive science, applications of this research to the creation of intelligent machines, and significance of this work for society.

Lookit: the online child lab

Bringing science home: MIT's Early Childhood Cognition Lab is trying a new approach in developmental psychology: bringing the experiments to you. Help researchers understand how your child thinks: the online studies are quick and fun, and let you as a parent contribute to our collective understanding of the fascinating phenomenon of children's learning. In some experiments you'll step into the role of a researcher, asking your child questions or controlling the experiment based on what he or she does. You can participate in studies from home by doing an online activity with your child that is videotaped via your webcam.

Learn about the work of the Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines through guest researcher talks on the Museum's Current Science and Technology stage, and annual events that feature hands-on demonstrations created by the CBMM community.

Our researchers are hard at work trying to unravel the mysteries of the human brain, human intelligence and artificial intelligence. Take a look behind the scenes at some of the people who make up the Center for Brains, Minds and Machines.
